MARTA Breeze Card System Only Taking Cash

Delays prompted the transit agency to tell customers to skip debit or credit card payments for

Going downtown today to watch the Braves play the Phillies? Or maybe you want to visit Dragon*Con 2012 at downtown hotels. If you plan to take MARTA, you'd better bring cash. Breeze Card vending machines are experiencing delays system-wide.

"Customers are encouraged to bring cash for entry until debit and credit card function is restored," according to MARTA spokesperson Ashanti Allen.

A news release issued Saturday night said MARTA is increasing staff at several locations to reduce inconvenience and help customers using the system. The locations were not identified.

The transit agency was working with Cubic, the Breeze system vendor, to fix the problem.
