Marietta Doctor Presents Seminar on Post Shingles Pain

Anyone who has had chickenpox is at risk for shingles, which then might leave them with nerve pain.

 

Adults 55 and older might want to attend an educational seminar on shingles and post-shingles nerve pain–or perhaps anyone who has had chickenpox, as that puts you at risk for the painful viral infection.

Dr. Marvin Tark will lead the seminar on Wednesday, Feb. 8,  at 1 p.m. at the .

Tark is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management.  Dr. Tark received his MD at Louisiana State University, and completed his residency at Grady Memorial Hospital, and is now based in Marietta. He has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years.  

 According to information provided by Dr. Tark, every year in the United States one million people develop shingles, which are caused by a reactivation of the same virus that causes chickenpox. Of those people, an estimated 200,000–or one in five–are expected to experience prolonged pain caused by damaged nerves.
