Expect Delays On Highway 9, Main Street In Alpharetta Thursday

Motorists traveling on Highway 9/Main Street through downtown Alpharetta should expect heavy delays this afternoon and this evening.

Road closures and adjacent streets and heavy pedestrian activity will be present due to the annual Taste of Alpharetta. The event draws in excess of 40,000 visitors to Downtown Alpharetta each year.

Road closures went into effect at 5 a.m. on Thursday and will remain in effect until 5 a.m. on Friday morning. 

The closures effect the following streets:

• Milton Avenue between State Route 9 and Wills Road
• Roswell Street between Old Milton Parkway and Milton Avenue
• Canton Street between Milton Avenue and Church Street

Commuters are encouraged to use alternative routes and avoid State Route 9 in the area. Suggested north and south alternatives include Westside Parkway and Georgia 400.
