Doobie Brothers Burn It Up In Alpharetta!

The Doobie Brothers have been rocking audiences for a very long time.  They have a rock-n-roll history that spans over 40 years, four Grammys and tons of great music.  What has given the Doobies a great career is great song writing,  band member resiliency, and a lot of hard work.   

Let's start with the hits.  Listen To The Music, Jesus Is Alright With Me, Long Train Running, China Grove, Black Water, Takin' It To The Streets, Minute By Minute.  I could go on, but I won't.

Now let's look and the members that have come and gone.  The original members that are still playing in the band are Tom Johnson, Patrick Simmons and John McFee.  Current members include John Cowan, Guy Allison, Marc Russo, Tony Pia and Ed Toth.  But look at this... Previous members include Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Michael McDonald, Willie Weeks and Cornelius Bumpus.  Just to name a few.  Here is the deal.  Great bands attract great musicians.  End of story.

Thursday's night concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park was awesome.  Brought back great memories when I managed a band and opened for the Doobie Brothers in 1980.
