Cambridge Beats Pope HS 41-32

The Cambridge Bears won in an exciting game Friday night, 9/27, in a back and forth lead against the Pope Greyhounds.  The game was full of highlight plays.   Quarterback Brian Moore threw 49 passes with 32 completions for a net 370 yards.  Receiver John Hurst had 10 receptions, one being a 72 yard gain to set up a touchdown by JD White on the next play.   Kicker Clay Hammer scored 11 points and was 3 for 3 in field goals.  Standout defense by Nathan Kish, Kryshna Tanksley, Josh Kania and Nick Oakes, interceptions by Zeke Gormley and  Christian Johnson.  All-around heads up play and determination by both the defense and offense made this a real team win.  Coaches were ecstatic about their first win this year, especially against what they considered the toughest team they've played this year.  Last year the Bears lost to Pope in a 49-7 rout.  Bears look to a competitive game Friday, Oct. 4 at Northview HS in John's Creek.
