Champia Real Estate Inspections Teams Up with The IMPACT! Group

Champia Real Estate Inspections Press Release by Lisa Ausman

Atlanta, GA --- In honor of Veterans Day, Champia Real Estate Inspections announced their association with The IMPACT! Group by providing in kind services to the non-profit, private organization that provides transitional housing for the homeless.

“Forty percent of all homeless people in the state of Georgia are veterans,” said Tom Merkel, President and CEO of The IMPACT! Group. We have made a conscious decision to be specifically veteran focused so by next year, sixty to seventy percent of our programs will help veterans. Right now we are zeroing in on men and women who are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan,” Merkel added.

The IMPACT! Group, who is celebrating their 20th anniversary year, receives funding from HUD along with funding from businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and private citizens. They have also formed relationships with strategic partners and neighbors because The IMPACT! Group doesn’t charge for their services.

“In Fulton and Gwinnett counties, there are approximately ninety thousand veterans and The IMPACT! Group is designing a program that incorporates housing, jobs, and education with veterans facing challenges of job loss and illness,” Merkel said.

“We consider our association with The IMPACT! Group to be both an honor and a privilege, said Bill Compton, President and CEO of Champia Real Estate Inspections. It literally hits home for us since three of our inspectors have either served or are currently serving in the Army, Air Force and Marines. In fact, one of my inspectors, Paul Feyereisen, served as a Colonel in the U.S. Army for twenty six years after completing his undergraduate degree at West Point.  Mike Gonzalez served in the U.S. Marines as an active and reserve member for sixteen years. Chris Howe is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserves since 2006 after actively serving in the U.S. Air Force for eleven years. I also proudly served for seven years in the U.S. Navy. In addition to direct service in the military, I also have another inspector, Vince Tidwell, who although he didn’t serve, designed jet fighters. His design work on the F-15 to utilize satellite missiles and his design work on the Strike Eagle, have saved thousands of US lives.”
