Downtown Alpharetta's Historic District now has a coffee shop with the recent opening of Mugs on Milton.

Jenn Newton and Gretchen Smith are the owners of the coffee shop at 35 Milton Ave., Suite A. They serve coffee and tea, along with pastries and cookies that are made from scratch daily.

"Not only do we have great coffee, we have some of the best treats in Alpharetta. We would be willing to bet that Gretchen's chocolate chip cookies are the best you will ever have," said Newton.

Thrive Coffee and Tea Forte products are on the menu.

"When we first saw the little shop that became Mugs, we were so excited about the potential of the space and location and thought it would be perfect for our vision – a cozy neighborhood coffee shop," Newton said.

She said opening Mugs on Milton at this location is a great wy to be part of the downtown experience.

"We get to do what we love, in a great area and just hope that everyone will like our shop as much as we do," Newton said.
