Mark Wyssbrod is North Fulton's Small Business Person of the Year

Wyssbrod, a managing member at Pro@ctive CPA, was given the 2013 honor at an awards ceremony.

An Alpharetta businessman has been named the 2013 Small Business Person of the Year by the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce

Mark Wyssbrod of Pro@ctive CPA was bestowed the honor during a ceremony at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek. 

The chamber each year selects an individual who "bears principal responsibility for operating a business defined as “small” under the applicable Small Business Association (SBA) size standards," according to its press release.

The finalists were chosen from the chamber's membership of over 1,600 businesses.

The company must also demonstrate sustained growth, community involvement and active participation in the chamber's events. 

"I could not have reached this level of achievement without a supporting and loving family, fantastic team members, great business partners and amazing clients," Wyssbrod said, adding he was "humbled" by the honor.

Along with offering "creative solutions" to challenges, Pro@active also offers newsletters to customers that provides them updates and steps in which they can use to be successful. 

"The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce is proud that Pro@ctive CPA has been selected for this award," said Julie Haley, committee chair of the Small Business Person of the Year Committee. "Our mission at the GNFCC is to support the growth of our members, and recognize the entrepreneurial spirit and achievements of small businesses, which make up a large portion of our membership. Pro@ctive CPA exemplifies the qualities we like to see in a thriving business that gives back to the local community."

Small Business Persons of Excellence were also recognized during the Chamber breakfast. They included: Paul Cote of Cypress Partners, LLC; Edward Kennedy and Mike Nilan of TreeZero Paper Co.; Jim Pope of KeyWorth Bank; Vik Thadani of Unbounded Solutions; and Mark Wyssbrod of Pro@ctive CPA.
