Former Alpharetta CVB Worker Leads Forsyth Chamber's Tourism Efforts

Brostrom is the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber's first tourism director.

Anna Brostrom, long time resident of Forsyth County (since 1999), has been tapped as the new Director of Tourism Development with the . She began her new position on May 23.

"I'm glad to be here in my community where I am going to be selling here--supporting my community instead of going back into another county," Brostrom told Cumming Patch.

According to an announcement released by the chamber on Thursday, "This is the first time in the history of our community that The Chamber has a paid, experienced staff member who will get up every day working and thinking about development of the tourism and hospitality industry in Cumming and Forsyth County."

For the past several years Brostrom worked closely with Forsyth County's Parks & Recreation Department to bring state, regional and national sports competitions to the community.

Brostrom worked with the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau for the last 10 years.

“We’d like to congratulate Anna in her new position and look forward to partnering with her in a joint effort to bring more sports groups to our area,” said Janet Rodgers, resident and CEO of the Alpharetta CVB.

In her new position, Brostrom looks forward to working with The Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center and area hotels. She will also focus on attending trade shows and professional trade association events to better promote the community and tourism for Cumming and Forsyth County.

Despite her experience, goals and responsibilities, Brostrom said, "I've got lot's to learn, I've got a lot of opportunities up here that I didn't even realize."

Brostrom, a native of Brewton, Alabama, graduated from The University of South Alabama. She moved to Atlanta in 1992, and since has worked in the hospitality and tourism industry. She has a 12-year-old daughter, Katherine, who attends , is active in her church, her daughter’s swim team, and adores her animals.
