Farmers Market Takes a Holiday on Old Soldiers Day

DATA decides to cancel the downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market on Saturday.

With Old Soldiers Day closing roads and grabbing residents' attention on Saturday, the Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market held weekly will be canceled for just one week.

The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association, which sponsors the farmers market, decided to take off on Saturday, Aug. 6. But it will resume on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The farmers market is held in the public parking lot next to Alpharetta City Hall on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (but not this week). Since the parade starts at and GA 9 (Main Street) in front of the parking lot will be closed during that time for the parade, the farmers market won't be held this week.
