Dept. of Labor, American Legion Hold Career Expo in Alpharetta

The career fair will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24 in Alpharetta and will feature a wide variety of employers.

The American Legion will team up with the Georgia Department of Labor to hold a career expo later this month in Alpharetta.

The expo will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 24 at the American Legion Post 201, located at 201 Wills Road in Alpharetta. 

Companies and agencies expected to participate in the expo include: Alorica, Best Buy, Bobby Dodd Organization, Brickman Group Landscaping, Caterpillar, Milton Police and Fire Department, Cobb County Public Safety Department, Comcast Cable, Consolidated Container Company, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), DeKalb County Police Department, Department of Juvenile Justice, Dr. Pepper-Snapple Group, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Georgia Army National Guard, Gate Gourmet, GE Capital Consumer Finance, Goodwill of North Georgia, Gwinnett County Police Department, The Home Depot, Independent Electrical Contractors, International Security Management Group, Kroger, Locumtenens, Lowes Home Centers, Manpower, Meggitt Training Systems, Murry Guard, O’Reilly Auto Parts, PNC Bank, Schneider National, Solid Hires/Welcome Home Resume, The Vet Center’s Mobile Unit, UES Corporation, UPS, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Navy Reserve and U.S. Secret Services.

Attendees should bring numerous resumes and be prepared to fill out applications for jobs. They should also be prepared to perform interviews at the expo for available jobs.

Of course, prospective applicants are encourage to dress appropriately to improve their chances for employment.
