DATA Builds Entrance to Alpharetta Farmers Market

Workers built an entrance for the Farmers Market at the City Hall parking lot a week before the weekly event begins its annual run.

On Saturday afternoon workers with J.K. Lockwood Construction quickly built this structure to signify the entrance to Alpharetta's Downtown Farmers Market in the parking lot beside City Hall. It's just in time for Saturday's opening of the Farmers Market's season

The Downtown Alpharetta Trade Association sponsors the Farmers Market. Its members weren't happy with the lack of permanence shown by their temporary signs. So with the help of City Councilmen Mike Kennedy and Chris Owens, they got Alpharetta to OK their idea of a gazebo-like structure that will e surrounded by garden plants.

DATA members estimated materials' costs at approximately $3,800.
