Alpharetta Company Adds Another Golf Course to its Portfolio

Affiniti Golf Partners will help Jemsek Golf operate a golf course in Newnan.

Jemsek Golf, the family company that originally designed, built and opened Summer Grove Golf Club in Newnan in 1999, has re-acquired ownership of the 18-hole facility and opened it to public and new member play for the first time in seven years.

Jemsek Golf owned and operated Summer Grove for seven years before selling it to Canongate Golf Clubs in 2006. The ownership transferred to Jemsek Golf effective Friday, Feb. 15. Canongate previously ran SummerGrove as a private club.

Katherine Jemsek, Jemsek Golf president, will direct operations for the family-owned and managed business and has retained Alpharetta-based Affiniti Golf Partners to provide a range of services to help promote and market the facility to local and regional golfers.

Summer Grove, designed by Joe Jemsek and Jeff Burton, was named Best New Public Golf Course by Golf Digest in 2000. The 18-hole, par 72, championship layout, which stretches to 6,954 yards from the back tees, offers five sets of tees to make the course challenging and enjoyable.

Summer Grove Golf Club is the centerpiece of SummerGrove, a 1,400-acre gated community just off I-85 in Newnan.
