Agile on the Green Raises $20,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure

The Alpharetta staffing company's annual golf tournament draws technology executives from around the area for the fund raiser.

Leading technology executives from across Atlanta turned out for the 9th annual Agile on the Green charity golf tournament on Oct. 2, raising more than $20,000 in net proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Greater Atlanta Affiliate, with funds helping to provide affordable mammograms throughout metro Atlanta.

Despite the rainy weather, participants joined together to make this year’s event hosted by staffing firm Agile Resources Inc. another resounding success, the staffing company reported in a news release on Oct. 9.

Agile on the Green was created in 2004 by Agile’s chief executive officer, Tricia Dempsey, following her own successful fight against stage-three breast cancer. Over the years, Agile on the Green has donated over $200,000 in the battle against breast cancer.

“We have so much fun every year,” commented Dempsey. “Our sponsors and VIPs really enjoy getting out of the office to network and raise money for a great cause, and we couldn’t do it without them.”

This year, the event featured the “Networking for the Cure” luncheon sponsored by Neustar, the addition of a cornhole tournament for those not up for golfing in the rain and our “19th Hole Reception” sponsored by Stone Resource Group. Other sponsors included Carter-Baldwin, Primus Software Corporation, Abacus Solutions, Quality Technology Services, McKesson, Elavon, Jones Lang LaSalle & The Coca Cola Company.

Additionally, Agile presented Kahua with their Pink Ribbon Award, which recognizes companies that have shown consistent support for Agile on the Green over the years.

A highlight of the day was “hearing from Komen Atlanta’s new executive director, Justine Boyd, who shared great stories about the work that Komen is doing in our community,” said Dempsey. “Her passion toward the mission is undeniable!”

After its ninth successful tournament, Agile is looking forward to celebrating its 10th annual event in 2013, already scheduled for Oct. 7, 2013, again at Alpharetta Athletic Club.  Please visit www.agileonthegreen to learn more and see highlights from this year’s event.
