Get Out: Things to Do This Weekend

Throw a cake and learn about stranger danger, try your hand at working with clay or learn how to adopt a road.

Why: Cake-tastrophe! is a family fun food fight for the cause, Next Generation Focus. Come dressed is your protective gear and prepare to get messy! Main event is the food fight and creme pie throwing. Forsyth County Sheriff's office will be present to discuss Stranger Danger and let the kids go in patrol car, Forsyth County Firefighters will have an engine and talk about fire safety, Cici's will be selling pizza, Starbucks will sell coffee and La Cupcakerie will be selling cupcakes.

Why: This year Roswell’s Art Center West adds a new twist to its annual Spring Works in Clay Show and Sale held from May 19 to May 22 in their studio gallery at 1355 Woodstock Road, just west of the Target shopping center on 92, in Roswell. In celebration and appreciation of their loyal attendees, on Saturday, May 21, the center is offering not only free ice cream to all who attend the show, but also a chance to discover the joy of sitting at a potter’s wheel and making a vase or bowl. Ongoing free demos and instruction.

 Why: Enjoy this best loved musical as is draws from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades and vaudeville. This production will star an ensemble of talented local teens.

 Why: Become involved with the Cities Adopt A Road Volunteer Program at this meeting. Activities will include a meet and greet for all the AAR facilitators, review the safety procedures, and discuss program changes. A continental breakfast will be provided.

 Why: North Park Tennis and Studio One to One join forces to bring you a fun-filled cardio and conditioning-filled evening of tennis! Come prepared to burn a ton of calories and learn how you can take your game to the next level with tennis-specific resistance exercises and dynamic stretching.
