Get Out: Things to Do This Weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some things we've found going on in the Alpharetta-Milton area!

Where/When? Milton High School, 13025 Birmingham Hwy, Alpharetta

Why Go? All band alumni as well as all parents who once played in their high school band are invited to dust off their instruments and join the Milton Marching Band for an alumni pregame show. Don’t have your instrument anymore? No problem! You can still sign up with the World Class Milton Marching Eagles Kazoo Section (kazoo provided)!

Cost: Donations are $25 and $10 for college students.

High River Band @ Matilda's October the 7th

Where/When: Matilda's Enchanted Cottage, 377 S Main St, Alpharetta. Friday, Oct. 7, 8 p.m.

Why Go? The boys from High River Band will be reuniting for a great night of live music. We will be breaking out all the classic HRB tune. We've got a killer line up featuring Richard Barrett, Andy Morrison, Patrick Haynes, Ian Strickland, Ellie Labar and special guest Casey Loope.

Cost:$15 adults, $10 Teens, $5

Where/When: 1650 Alpharetta Highway, Alpharetta, GA; Oct 6 - 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Why Go?: Hosted by the North Fulton Jaycees, the House on Horror Hill is open in a new location this year every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October, plus Halloween. 

Cost: $10

Where/When: Willow Springs, 10579 Roxburgh Lane, Roswell, GA; Saturday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m.

Why Go?: Come on out for some chili tasting and help support a great cause! The event, which benefits The Drake House, promises delicious chili, music and an overall good time! Tickets are $5 each, which include three chili tastes and a ballot for judging your favorite. Judging will be done by attendees and a panel of judges.

Cost: $5

Where/When: , 1180 Upper Hembree Road, Roswell, GA; Saturday, Oct. 8 at noon

Why Go?: Join "Angels Among Us Pet Rescue" for the inauguaral pet adoption event this Saturday. Come out and visit with the pets and maybe find your new "best friend" to take home with you!

Cost: Free

Where/When?:, 235 Castleberry Road, Cumming, GA; Friday, Oct. 7, 4 p.m.–12 p.m., Saturday,  Oct. 8, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9, 12:30 p.m.-9 p.m.

Why Go?: The Cumming Country Fair offers a heritage village, ground acts and local musical entertainment. A cornerstone of the fair, the famous James H. Drew Exposition returns with the world’s most progressive midway. Featuring over 40 rides and numerous games that will surely provide fun for all!

Cost: $7



Where/When: 2100 Ray Moss Connector, Johns Creek, GA; Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.

Why Go?: Come Join the fun! We will have food artisans and farms at our grand opening! It will be fun for the whole family. Meet our mascot Oliver. He is the Seventh Heaven Farm's rescue goat and he is two months old! There will be fresh produce to by including end of the season tomatoes. Workshops start next week. A portion of every Dal Cuore product sale will go to Wholesome Wave.
