Wishbone Wants Family for Holidays

Here's this week's Atlanta Humane Society-Mansell Campus Pet of the Week.

If you are looking for a playful and strong boy with a big personality you have to meet the Atlanta Humane Society’s Wishbone.

Wishbone is a pit bull terrier and hound mix with a mostly white body featuring just a few little black spots. This little man is growing and at eight months old and about 33 pounds he will continue to grow and fill out for a few more months.

He is also at an age where structure and training are very important. He is still trying to figure out what is appropriate behavior and needs some work learning what is appropriate to chew and what is not. You can see Wishbone’s desire to learn through his response to gentle correction and positive reinforcement. He would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who is willing to give him the time and training he deserves. A six week obedience training class for Wishbone and his future owner has been sponsored by Georgia Associated Realty and would be a great bonding experience for him and his new family. While he is learning how to be on his best behavior Wishbone would be best suited to a family without small children. However he loves other dogs and would make a great companion for another dog.

Wishbone is a fun-loving and active boy who would welcome the chance to find a family of his own. He would love a family willing to play with him every day and would make a great running buddy. We have included a cute video of him (that can also be viewed at our website atlantahumane.org) that was taken a few months ago so you can see how sweet this boy really is!

In anticipation of finding his family, Wishbone has been neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and tested negative for heartworms. You can visit Wishbone at the Mansell campus located at 1565 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009. Bring you whole family, children and other dogs too, to meet Wishbone and see if he is a great match. An adoption application can be filled out at our location and we can be contacted at 404-875-5331 with any questions.
