Volunteers Wanted for Milton Rivers Alive Cleanup

Volunteers will work together to clean up streams, roadways and other sites throughout the city on Saturday.

The annual Rivers Alive campaign will make its way to Milton on Saturday.

The Milton Grows Green Committee, along with Bailey Farms & Gardens, Inc., will co-sponsor the annual event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the city said in a news release.

The farm is located at 255 Hickory Flat Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004, one mile west of Birmingham Crossroads.

Volunteers will gather at 9 a.m. and proceed to clean streams, roadways and other areas throughout the city.

Each volunteer will be assigned to predetermined areas, depending on age and capabilities.

Rivers Alive is a volunteer waterway clean up project that takes place across the state.

It's sponsored by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division's Georgia Adopt-A-Stream Program and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs' Keep Georgia Beautiful Program
