Today's Spring Break Activities Go Inside On A Cool Day

If your kids are bugging you that there's nothing to do, stuff them in the car and take them to one of these places for a little fun.

Get hands-on with science: The Georgia State University Bio Bus will stop by the Roswell Library on Wednesday, April 6 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. There will be two tours an hour (4 tours total), with 15 children allowed to climb on board per tour. The tours are open to ages 6 - 10, but registration is required. Register your child in person or over the phone by calling the Roswell Library at 770-640-3075.

Craft Week:  Children ages 4-12 can have fun with a different craft each day this week at Chattahoochee Nature Center. Reuse and recycle items to make fun, take-home projects. Daily 1 p.m.-2 p.m.

The Cooler in Alpharetta offers roller skating from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. daily this week. On Wednesday, also add 2:15-4:15 p.m., and you can ice skate at that time, too. Ready for some stick time? This week Tom Bardis, The Cooler's hockey director, will be offering a skills session from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The cost will be $20 cash. Email Tom Bardis at tbardis@cooler.com to sign up.

The Ice, Ice Skating and Hockey Complex in Cumming offers more chances to put on those skates. For Spring Break, the complex has special public skate hours through Friday, 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. Plus on Friday, add 7:30-9:30 p.m. to your schedule. And men's stick time on Wednesday and Friday will be from 10 a.m.-noon.

Bowling, laser tag and more:  Stars & Strikes in Cumming has a bowling alley, arcade games, a laser tag and food. The facility offers a trio of Spring Break specials that offer bowling, laser tag and arcade games at a special price. The specials are in effect from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday.

Visit the library: Even if there's no special program when you stop by, your local library is a great place to take the kids. Books, magazines (professionals call them periodicals), Internet access, including free Wi-Fi and somebody else's rule to be quiet make for a great spring break trip.
