Drivers are asked to avoid Rucker Road next week as the city repaves the thoroughfare between Wills and Harris roads.

Plans to begin repaving Rucker Road is expected to bring heavy traffic delays starting next week in Alpharetta.

The city on Monday will start repaving a section of the road between Wills and Harris roads, which will require "frequent lane closures" between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

The project will kick off on Monday Sept. 23 and expect to wrap up on Friday Sept. 27.
