Photo Gallery: American Legion Post 201 Veteran's Memorial Park

The "Walk of Memories" remembers Georgia veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice, including those who have fallen in the war on terror since 9/11.

Alpharetta–and the entire state of Georgia–has its own memorial in town to those who have fallen in service to their country. The "Walk of Memories" takes on a special meaning today as it includes those who have given their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, wars started in the nation's war on terror.

The "Walk of Memories" memorializes all Georgia veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who have given their lives during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Each name is engraved into a brick on the Walk of Memories, which winds its way past memorial to individual conflicts, with a tank, a gun turret and a helicopter among the other memorials the American Legion has erected on the site.
