North Park will become thehome of the Rotary Reflection Garden after Alpharetta approved of the project by the Rotary Club of North Fulton.
The City of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Recreation Commission approved construction of the Rotary Reflection Garden, which is the club's third project at the park.
Richard Owens Environmental Design is tasked with creating a peaceful and subtle woodland garden in this naturally beautiful, yet underutilized, nook of North Park and provide park visitors an opportunity for exploration, rest, relaxation and reflection, the club reports.
North Park is a fixture of Alpharetta, visited by thousands of guests each year, many of whom are there for sports activities on the many athletic fields and courts offered. The Rotary Club of North Fulton envisions a quieter, beautiful setting to offer a different type of opportunity, said club member Michael Choate in a news release. The garden will be set behind an existing and already beautiful pond and fountain area and in front of the undisturbed woods. A rustic pergola will serve as an attractive focal point from the road. It will have multiple benches for relaxation along with beautiful brick pavers.
The community has an opportunity to be involved in the creation of the garden by purchasing engraved brick pavers with inspirational and appropriate sayings and/or family names via the Rotary Club of North Fulton’s website. Be a part of something special. Consider making a gift acknowledging someone who has impacted your life this holiday season. Sponsorships are also available for the pergola and benches and a plaque will be displayed acknowledging the sponsor. Please visit the website for more details.
