The donation-based class will be held on Saturday, June 21, and participants are asked to pay what they can.
The class, which is timed to take place under the sun's highest position on the longest day of the year, will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is open to everyone, regardless of ability.
Many poses offered can even be done in a chair, said Kim Saunders, founder of Lift Yoga.
"If you've always wanted to try yoga but were unsure where to start, this is a great opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of this proven and effective mind-clearing exercise," she said. "Be engaged with your community and welcome summer outside in the beautiful evening."
Friendship Community Park is located at 12785 Birmingham Highway between Crabapple Crossing Elementary and Northwestern middle schools.
If inclement weather occurs, the class will take place in Bethwell Community Center, which sits at 2695 Hopewell Road.
Lift Yoga Therapy offers weekly classes and a host of special workshops and events throughout the summer, such as free community yoga night, yoga fitness challenges, restorative yoga with live musical accompaniment, meditation classes and more.
