Get Out: Things To Do This Weekend in Alpharetta, Milton Area

Artwork in downtown Alpharetta, an Earth Day festival and an Easter Egg hunt are on tap this weekend.

Where/When: S Main St, Alpharetta, GA 30009, Saturday and Sunday April 16-17, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Why: Nearly 100 artists from throughout the U.S. will be showcased at the seventh annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest. Enjoy live jazz, roots rock and Celtic music, as well as cultural dancing, and more. Free parking will be available at City Hall and Milton Center.

Price: Free to Attend.

Where/When: , 750 Hickory Flat Rd, Milton, GA 30004, Saturday April 16, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Why: Milton Grows Green (MGG) and the City of Milton present Milton’s 2nd Annual Earth Day Festival. Visit local vendors including arts, crafts, animal rescue, environmentally friendly products and services, food for picnicking. The Festival will also include: Human “Hamster Balls”, Wagon rides, horse drawn carriage rides, electric car rides, live music by Airsoft 360 and a “Green Egg” hunt with environmental goodies.

Where/When: , 13450 Cogburn Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004 (Adult Softball Complex), April 17, 2 p.m.

Why: Children age 10 and under are invited to participate in the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department's Children's Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny, will be on-site at 2:30 p.m. and will be available for photos with children.  The egg hunt begins promptly at 3 p.m.  Children will be divided into age groups for the Easter egg hunt.  

Price: Free

Where/When: 1200 Northside Forsyth Dr, Cumming, GA 30041 (Lafarge Quarry & Northside Hospital-Forsyth), Saturday, April 16, Starts at 9 a.m.

Why: The Healthcare Association of Forsyth County and Lafarge teamed up with the Forsyth County parks and Recreation Department to emphasize the Association's Envision a Fit Forsyth program on community health and wellness.  Proceeds from the Boulder Dash 5K go directly to the Parks and Recreation Department to create an Envision a Fit Forsyth fitness program within the Big Creek Greenway. The Lafarge Spring Fling follows the race and features: T-shirt Contest, team/company tent rentals, food / beverages, and awards.

Price: $25 to $40 pending on sign up date

Where/When: , 9135 Willeo Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, Saturday April 16, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

Why: The whole family will enjoy many ways to connect to nature and learn fun new ways to help the planet. There will be interactive booths and exhibits, live musical entertainment, live animal presentations, and much more!
