Fourth of July in Alpharetta and Milton

Start with a parade this morning and end with a bang this evening.

The Fourth of July festivities begin this morning with a Citizens' Parade, and end with an orchestra concert punctuated by a fireworks display.

9 a.m., Crabapple Community Association's Fourth of July Walking Parade. Braeburn Commercial buildings. Gather at these buildings at 9 a.m. after parking at Crapabble Baptist Church. City Councilman Bill Lusk and his wife, Janie, invite citizens of all ages to join the parade at 9:30 a.m., a walk through historic Crabapple. Win prizes for best bike decoration, best pet and most enthusiastic. T-shirts, water and freezer pops while supplies last.

3 p.m. Alpharetta's Fourth of July Celebration, . Food vendors will be located throughout the park from 3 p.m.-9 p.m.  Children's activities will be on the Event Lawn behind from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Alpharetta City Band will present a patriotic medley from 6 p.m.-6:45 p.m. Fireworks display at dusk.

8 p.m. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's concert, . After the ASO's first summer concert in Alpharetta this season, enjoy fireworks on the amphitheater's ground. The fireworks should start after the city's display for those looking for a spot to watch both.
