Down Home Derby Promises Food, Fun and Community Benefit

Tickets to the annual event are on sale now.

Jeans, boots, horses and hats are a spring tradition in North Fulton; and once again, the 2013 Down Home Derby promises not to disappoint.

The derby, which benefits the Child Development Association (CDA) in Roswell, will be held at In Your Dreams Farm in Alpharetta again this year, on May 4.

True to form, guests at the 2013 event will enjoy live music, food, drinks, auctions and horses. But, once again, the real showstoppers will be the hats. Following in the tradition of the Kentucky Derby, the event will hold its second Blue Ribbon Hat Parade.

Organizers say the event not only benefits the community, but also ensures locals have a good time while they're at it. 5 Seasons Brewery will dish up dinner, while Grey Goose Vodka has signed on as an official sponsor to provide the drinks. And Jonny Hibbert's Beautiful Dream band will play all the musical toe-tapping favorites.
