Community Gives Thanks by Helping Locals in Need

Hundreds of turkeys and other food items were handed out for Thanksgiving by North Fulton Community Charities volunteers.

As a result of the community’s generosity, 780 families and 150 seniors were provided food, gift cards, turkeys and pumpkin bread by North Fulton Community Charities just in time for Thanksgiving.

Over 400 volunteers helped to collect, sort, fill and distribute the food items.  Families began lining up in the early morning hours the night before at the distribution site. Smiles, sore backs, tired eyes and thankful tears were all part of the special service event.

“We are so blessed to live in a community that recognizes and responds to the needs of those less fortunate. During his Presidency, Ronald Reagan said ‘We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.’ There are a lot of people NFCC sees everyday living in North Fulton that need our help. Thank you for caring, donating, serving, and providing a holiday meal for someone during Thanksgiving,”  said Eden Purdy, program director.
