Arts Scene Will Take Over Alpharetta Next Weekend

Three events designed to promote local and regional artists will be held next weekend in downtown Alpharetta.

The streets of downtown Alpharetta will be transformed next weekend into a mini arts and culture oasis. 

The city will hold three events that will showcase the talent of local established and emerging artists to residents.

The 10th annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest will return to Milton Avenue between Main Street and Canton-Roswell Street. The festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27.

The festival, which has free admission, will offer those passionate about art the chance to stroll through the streets and take in a wide variety of art work, live music from local and regional acts, food and activities. 

Mixed media, photography, pottery, jewelry, textiles, glass, wood, metal and paper art will all be represented during the two-day festival. A juried crew of local art professionals selected over 80 artists to appear in this year’s show, all from states such as Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Michigan, and Maryland.

Also on hand will be a free upcycling art exploration area where residents can explore and express their own creativity. 

Along with free admission, residents can enjoy free parking at Alpharetta City Hall, Milton Center (the old Milton High School) and Alpharetta downtown parking lots. 

Streetfest coincides with the Alpharetta Art Walk and the Artful Alpharetta Art Show.

The art show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Alpharetta Welcome Center. The Welcome Center is at 178 South Main Street Suite 200

The show is free, and will feature at least eight of the city's talented artists, who will display works in various media. 

The art walk will allow residents to take a stroll throughout downtown and discover various galleries filled with the works of both established and emerging artists, fine and folk art, contemporary and traditional pieces.
