Alpharetta Weather Update: Refrain From Vehicle Travel

Alpharetta remains under a Winter Weather Warning until 1 p.m. on Thursday.

From the City of Alpharetta at 10 p.m. Wednesday:

Alpharetta remains under a Winter Weather Warning until 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 13.

CURRENT ROAD CONDITIONS
As temperature fall tonight ice will develop on all area roadways. City of Alpharetta crews will be working throughout the night to battle icing conditions on priority roadways, bridges and overpasses. Ice will be present on local roadways and across the Metro Area throughout the morning hours on Friday.

It is recommended that the public refrain from vehicle travel for the remainder of this weather event due to road conditions.

TONIGHT’S FORECAST
A last round of primarily snow will pass through the Alpharetta Area late tonight and during the early morning hours Thursday. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s.

THURSDAY’S FORECAST
Winter precipitation is expected to move out of the Alpharetta area around 6:00 AM Thursday. Temperatures will remain below freezing and maintain any ice and snow accumulations through mid-morning. Temperatures will rise to around 40 after the Noon Hour.

Ice will be present on area roadways throughout the morning hours. Residents are urged to avoid driving until the afternoon to allow sunshine and rising temperatures to assist in melting remaining ice.
