Alpharetta Resident Named to American Heart Association Board

Pegui Mariduena will serve on the board of directors for the American Heart Association's Greater Southeast Affiliate.

An Alpharetta resident has been tapped to serve on a nonprofit organization's board of directors. 

Pegui Mariduena, president of StarMar Consulting, LLC, will serve on the American Heart Association’s Greater Southeast Affiliate's Board of Directors for fiscal year 2013-14. 

Mariduena will also serve on the American Heart Association’s national board of directors as the GSA affiliate board liaison, a member of the Communications Coordinating Committee and a member of the Corporate Relations Review Committee.

“I am honored to continue to serve as a GSA board member, using my experience and expertise in multicultural marketing to help the American Heart Association continue to broaden its reach into diverse communities,” Mariduena said. 

The Greater Southeast Affiliate serves Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

Board members help the AHA in achieving its 2020 impact goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent.

Mariduena lives in Alpharetta with her family and actively supports Latino community initiatives.
