Alpharetta Offers Free Sustainable Gardening Class

The free workshop will be held next Wednesday at the city's Public Works Department.

Alpharetta residents interested in having a great vegetable garden will soon be able to take advantage of a free class. 

A sustainable gardening workshop, sponsored by the city of Alpharetta, the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission and the North Fulton Master Gardeners, will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at the city's Public Works Department. 

The agency is located at 1790 Hembree Road, and the program will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The program is available to anyone, from enthusiasts to beginners, and will offer a "smart, low-cost, environmentally-sound practices for growing nutrient-dense vegetables," according to a city news release.

The workshop will cover planning, seed starting, cultural practices and soil/water management, and will offer additional tips. It's also appropriate for parents who want to get their children involved in gardening.
