NY Life Foundation Grants $1m to Boys & Girls Clubs of America

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), which has national headquarters in Atlanta, GA, announced today that it has received a four-year, $1 million grant from the New York Life Foundation.  New York Life, which has a data center in Alpharetta, GA, provided Foundation funding to support BGCA’s Great Futures Campaign for America’s Kids, with a focus on the nonprofit’s academic success strategy and goal of helping reduce the high school dropout rate by half in the next five years.  The funding will also support other key components of BGCA’s Great Futures academic success strategy that are focused on equipping more Clubs and partnering with public education to provide expanded learning opportunities through after-school and summer programs.

“We’re continuing our long-standing relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America by investing in programs and outreach efforts that achieve measurable impact on academic success,” said Chris Park, president of the New York Life Foundation.  “We are pleased to support BGCA’s Great Futures Campaign, which assists academically challenged youth along the continuum to success.”

“The Great Futures Campaign illustrates our deep commitment to assuring that success is within reach of every child who enters our Club doors.  With help from generous partners like the New York Life Foundation, which has supported our mission for many years, success means more young people graduating from high school with a plan for the future,” said Jim Clark, president and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
