Miranda at the Alpharetta Atlanta Humane Society

Our pet of the week this week is Miranda! A staff favorite at AHS, Miranda is a two and a half year old hound mix with a tongue-lolling grin. A very affectionate girl, Miranda loves to get belly rubs and chin scratches. A big girl, and strong as a horse, Miranda needs plenty of play time and exercise. She loves tug of war and fetch, but her favorite toy is our big, red ball out in the play yards, especially if you chase her for it! It should be known that Miranda still pulls on her leash, and strength only makes it harder. She can behave when she has a firm leader, but would really benefit from some obedience training. Miranda likes other dogs, but plays really rough, and is too dominate with female dogs. She plays better with the boys, just make sure they're just as rough and tumble as she is! And while Miranda loves all people, her size and strength make her a hazard for smaller children, as she could accidentally hurt them. Like all AHS animals, Miranda has been kept up to date on shots, flea treatment, and heartworm preventative. She is already spayed and microchipped, just waiting for her new home. So bring the whole family to meet Miranda today!
