Local Student Receives Scholarship from NY Life & LIFE

Zach Willard, a resident of Johns Creek and a freshman at Auburn University, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from New York Life and the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) as one of four winners of the LIFE Lesson Scholarship essay contest in recognition of Life Insurance Awareness Month.  Mr. Willard’s essay documented his mother’s financial struggle after his father died in a car accident when he was eight weeks old.

New York Life, which has a data center in Alpharetta, awarded the grant to Zach and three other recipients as part of September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month, when consumers are encouraged to learn about the financial protection and security life insurance provides.
