2. If you reside in Alpharetta and want to make your political ambitions known, you can run for the Alpharetta City Council! Qualifying for Alpharetta City Council Posts 1, 2 and 3 will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday Aug. 26 through Wed. Aug. 28. The fee is $450.
3. If you live in Milton, you also will be able to qualify for city elections in November. Qualifying for the office of mayor and the District 1/Post 1, District 2/Post 1 and District 3/Post 1 seats will also kick off Monday. Residents can qualify Monday Aug. 26 through Friday Aug. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fees in Milton to quality for mayor is $690 and is $390 for city council seats.
4. On Wednesday, the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund is teaming up with the Alpharetta YMCA to offer mobile mammography screening. Northside Hospital’s mobile mammography screening unit, ScreenAtlanta, will provide digital mobile mammography screening services between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Space is limited, so call (770) 667-4400 to make an appointment.
