Blues Guitarist Hugh Vaughan LIVE at The Velvet Note
The Velvet Note, 4075 Old Milton Pky, Alpharetta, GA | Get Directions »
$5.00
Atlanta-based musician Hugh Vaughan has an enduring passion for music and a career that spans three decades. Vaughan plays an amazing soulful blues guitar, classic acoustic guitar, and he’s an extraordinary vocalist. Growing up with R&B, he feels they are his musical roots.
Vaughan has a career that some musicians would envy – not filled with world-renowned fame and fortune, but filled with opportunities to make many friends (some quite famous) and learn from them, on stage and off. And he has enjoyed these opportunities. Hugh has been on stage with several members of the Allman Brothers Band, Johnny Winter, Randall Bramlett, Paul Barrere, Archie Bell, Jaimoe Johnson, Chuck Leavell, Bill Kahler, Kodak Harrison, Tinsley Ellis, Gregg Allman, Matt Greeley, T. Levitz, Barry Richman, Kenny Cook, Cooper Tisdale, Billy Hatley, Chuck Leavell, Rick Danko and many many more he can’t even remember! Hugh has opened for Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, Roger McGuinn, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Johnny Winter, Flora Purim, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the Indigo Girls, and more.
Says Vaughan, “I love to play live. I draw energy from the audience and get honest feedback on what I’m doing. I have over 150 songs I perform regularly, and mostly I play rock, blues, and rhythm & blues, with a screaming guitar…… As a teenager, I bought B.B. King’s album Completely Well, and the song The Thrill Is Gone changed the character of music that I listened to. I learned to play it and have played blues since.”
