Alpharetta residents can now eat out and spend a little less. There are many restaurants that offer free meals for children who dine with their parents. Children who qualify for this are children under the age of 10. IHOP is a restaurant that requires no planning. Kids eat free every day after 4pm with their parents. The Super Bowl is right around the corner on Sunday, Feb.6, and shoppers who like to save money know that timing is everything when it comes to getting in on deals. CVS and Party City have some good prices to help party throwers get ready for the big game. CVS has a sale on Coca Cola beginning Sunday and ending next Saturday. This is as low as I have ever seen it and a great time to buy. If you are not a frequent CVS customer, you should know that the store often gives out Extra Care Bucks. These are printed coupons given to customers when they check out that are dollars off of their next …

The hippest place to shop for elementary and middle school age girls is Justice For Girls. My daughter is no exception to wanting every single article of clothing she owns to be from this one store. Seeing that she dresses like much of the other girls I see out and about, I know this is a common occurrence. The shop has some great finds right now. If you buy from there often, you probably got the catalog in the mail last week with the 40 percent off your entire purchase coupon card inside. Bring it with you. If you do not have one, print one before you go. Much of the store is on sale. Take …
Long weekends often mean big sales and this three-day, holiday weekend is no exception. With the day off and the cold gloomy skies, it's a nice day for the mall. Gap, a clothing store for men, women and children is offering 40 percent off your purchase today only. This deal is posted on their Facebook page and customers do not need a coupon. I was told by an associate at the store that sale items can receive the discount and the offer is good on everything except jeans. If you have a Gap credit card, you can expect 45 percent off your purchase total. Offer is good at Gap body as well where …
The snow and ice are melting and local retailers are hoping customers will make up for the lack of shopping this past week. Two local business owners will be offering extra promotions to help bring in customers beginning this Saturday. Ivy Interiors, a shop filled with one of a kind items, stained glass, and vintage books and collectibles is currently offering $20 off of a $50 new item purchase from their Home Interiors Collection. This offer is good through the end of January. Deborah Zimmerer also offers ever-changing deals that she posts on the message board outside her shop on Main …
With the snow and ice keeping Alpharetta and Milton residents at home and only going out for emergencies, small business owners are not making much money. Most are not even open this week, and those who have opened are not seeing many customers walk in the door. This is especially true for Studio One to One, a fitness studio on GA 9 in Bethany Point . This is the busiest time of year for the fitness studio. Since their business is focused on health and well being, it just does not make a lot of sense for them to ask their clients to drive on dangerous road conditions, said owner Elaina …
With the roads as snowy and icy as they are, the best deals in Alpharetta shops today are not worth the danger of driving to get in on them. That is, if they are even open. Personally, I wont be outside doing much other than taking pictures of the kids sledding down our hill or building snowmen. That said, there are still some great money saving tips I can pass on today, all from the comfort of my warm living room. Online shopping has become one my favorite pass the time activities. Just for fun, I check www.slickdeals.net almost every day. This is a forum Web site where people post deals on…
With all of the holiday gifts that require batteries, the sales for them seem to be in stores all across Alpharetta. I set out to find the best deal. The lowest price per battery that I saw is for Rayovac AA's at Batteries Plus on Windward Parkway. Here are the cheapest prices on two other major brands as well to give you some choices. Duracell, Energizer and Rayovac are the most common found batteries in Alpharetta. Some stores have their store brands as well, and I looked at these too but found that none of them came out to be less expensive than the prices I found below. For simplicity, …
While running through Target today, I could not help but notice the red clearance tags in almost every department. When I walked through bath and bedding, I saw wastebaskets marked down to $9.99 from $19.99. Towels, toothbrush accessories and shower curtains were marked down in many prints and solids. Prices were as low as 50 percent off for many items. The toy section has two aisles of markdowns with signs that said 30-50 percent off. There were several Polly Pocket, and Disney Fairy sets marked down to $6.99-$14.99 from 12.99-$24.99 and higher. I bought Paperoni sets that were originally …
While out shopping this weekend, I noticed that prices are continuing to drop on holiday decorations. The selection varies from store to store but the bargains are still out there. Home Depot has increased the discounts to 75 percent off. They had a full aisle left this morning when I stopped by. Boxed light sets, wreathes, ornaments and a few yard displays all marked down. Boxed ornaments that were originally $9.99 are now $2.50. I noticed bins of gift sets marked down to $9.99 from $19.99 and higher. These sets included flashlights, screw drivers, and wrench sets to name a few. Target was …
Christmas is over and now is the time to buy decorations for next year. Is your tree looking bare? Did some of your lights burn out? Now is the time to replace them. New stockings, gift wrap, and holiday decorations will all go from 50 to 75 percent off and up to 90 percent off in the coming days. If you have the spare time and the desire for a deal, this is a great week to shop. Lowe's has all of their Christmas decorations currently at 60 percent off. Inflatable snow globes to fill up your yard, illuminated deer and strings of lights are included. Customers can buy a 4-foot animated pink…
Lego sets are going fast at Walmart, with mark downs to clearance prices in the toy aisle. I just bought a Star Wars jet that is normally $39.99 for $16.99. This is a great time to stock up for birthdays and even for Christmas next year. They had several empty slots where other boxes stood so they are selling fast but if you hurry, you may just get in on this bargain. Many sets were on clearance and several boxes were in stock of each item when I was there today. Editor's Note: Tammy Bester begins a regular column on the Alpharetta-Milton Patch, helping you find the best deals in town. And …
