Southern Life

Since it is hot as seven hells right now I'd like to impart a piece of romantic happiness to all of us dealing with the heat.  I love living in Georgia for many reasons.  One of those is the sounds.  Shortly after sunset, a beautiful symphony erupts.  The cicadas perform their dance.  Now I know the cicada is not high on most people's list of romantic situations but hear me out.

On a hot Summer's night on my back porch, just after sunset, I can hold my Honey's hand, and they start to talk.  If you close your eyes, and listen, it starts.

It starts with the Alpha to the right and the sound travels across the spectrum to the left.  You can actually hear the exuberance pick up. These damn bugs are so happy to be alive.  They repeat this courting dance for hours.

I never paid attention to these sounds when I was young.  At this age, I am listening.  The beauty of what this world had to offer in sounds and visuals is limitless.

I recommend strongly,  grab your Honey's hand, breath deeply, sit out on the back porch and listen to the beauty of our world.
