The outside eating area at Erwood's, in Crabapple, is among my favorite spots to eat on a breezy day or mild evening. Owner Rob Forrest has lucked up on a great little location. He's also lucked up on a great pizza chef - Stefano.
My husband and I met Stefano a few weeks ago when, for a change, we sat indoors and watched him at work cooking pizza's in the 900+ degree pizza oven. Stefano created a lovely little pizza for us with just the right about of tomato sauce and cheese, caramelized onions, and a drizzle of truffle oil. We were not disappointed. We were so not disappointed that we went back a week later and ordered pizza again - this time with sausage. I don't normally choose sausage as a topping, but Stefano had told me they special ordered it and so I had to try it. It was outstanding.
Stefano is the real deal. In fact, I highly recommend his handiwork.
