Wordes' Family, Friends Plan Memorial Service in Milton
Andrew Wordes, also know as Roswell's Chicken Man, will be buried Friday in Milton Fields, just north of Roswell.

The family and friends of Andrew Wordes have organized a Friday memorial service in Milton for Roswell's Chicken Man, according his good friend Patti Silva.
"The funeral has been set and all the arrangements have been made," Silva told Roswell Patch, after speaking with Wordes brother.
Jim Bell, owner of the eco-friendly burial grounds Milton Fields on Birmingham Road, donated a plot to the Wordes family for his burial.
"It's right in line with Andrew's purpose and his feelings about sustainability," Silva said. "It's just the most beautiful, perfect place, very peaceful."
Despite the explosive way Wordes life ended Monday when his house went up in flames, those who loved him hope to memorialize him on Friday in a peaceful, non-controversial manner. The memorial will be a time to share memories of a friendly man, beloved by many, who cared greatly for animals.
The memorial service is open to the public and will take place at Milton Fields on Friday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. The cemetery is located at 1150 Birmingham Road, Milton, between Birmingham Highway and Hopewell Road.

I hope Mr. Wordes family and friends can sue the city of Roswell. I feel that this man was driven into suicide and that the city of Roswell has a serious share of guilt in this situation. This could happen to any individual and the city should absolutely not be allowed to get away with this monstrosity. I have read the different articles regarding this situation and it is apparent to me that there is much more to this story. Mr. Wordes, I believe, was a victim of gross harassment. Anybody can be driven to suicide under the right conditions. Again, I hope the friends and family of Mr. Wordes can take legal action against those that are guilty so that his death will not be in vain. He looked like a very nice man, a gentle soul who dearly loved his animals.

I agree with Elizabeth (comment above). He was harassed. The adult version of "bullying" that we are so concerned about with our children in schools.

Assistant City Attorney Bob Hulsey told Roswell Patch in an e-mail that there were no current Roswell citations or court proceedings pending against Wordes.
He went on to say "My understanding is that today's events (home explosion) were precipitated by an order of eviction by Fulton Magistrate Court,".
That’s what is call CYA !
Mr. Hulsey needs to explain his involvement in the filing of a 55-page civil suit against Mr. Wordes. The suit was filed by Roswell's city attorneys in attempt to deny Mr. Wordes his right to a public defender after Roswell’s municipal court judge directed Roswell’s legal department to provide Mr. Wordes a public defender for his criminal cases.
At the time of the filing Mr. Wordes’ public defender said he wasn't aware that a civil lawsuit like this has ever been filed in Roswell City Court before.
Mr. Wordes told me that his public defender, a criminal defense lawyer, stated that the law suit was so involved and "it looks like they are trying to lien and probably take your house."
Andrew’s public defender went on to say they spent a lot of time figuring out how to get you and it looks like they have.The suit was conveniently dropped by Roswell's legal department after foreclosure.
