Widespread Panic, The Avett Brothers Schedule Dates in Alpharetta
Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre's first 2013 "show" will be the Big Apple Circus, which will pitch its big top in the parking lot off Founders Parkway next month.
The circus is coming to town, and so are Widespread Panic and the Avett Brothers. Performances are scheduled at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta.
The Big Apple Circus, Widespread Panic and The Avett Brothers – with Old Crow Medicine Show – are scheduled in 2013.
Big Apple Circus
The Big Apple Circus won't be under the roof of the amphitheater, but that's good, because the circus is bringing its Big Top Tent to Parking Lot A for a true circus experience. The show will be Legendarium: A Journey Into Circus Past, and it marks the Big Apple Circus's first time back in Georgia for three seasons.

Widespread Panic
After a yearlong hiatus, Widespread Panic announced dates for their 2013 Spring Tour. The tour marks the first time the legendary sextet will tour featuring their full electric set up since 2011.
The tour arrives in Alpharetta on April 26 for two concerts in two days.
Fans recently had a taste of what they have been missing when Widespread Panic played a rousing sold-out New Year’s Eve show at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. The prior evening, the band wowed the crowd during their annual Tunes For Tots benefit. To date, Tunes for Tots has raised more than $900,000 for music programs in Georgia public schools.
In early 2012, Widespread Panic embarked on their first-ever fully acoustic “Wood Tour”. The tour featured select, small venue performances in four cities over 11-dates. In October 2012, the band released "Wood," a special edition 3LP boxed set and double live CD, featuring selections from the special tour.
After 27 years, Widespread Panic (John Bell, Dave Schools, Todd Nance, John “Jojo” Hermann, Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz and Jimmy Herring) is as strong as ever as they continue to break attendance records at major venues throughout the U.S.
This is a food drive event.

The Avett Brothers w/Old Crow Medicine Show
The Avett Brothers begin another new era of folk with their seventh full-length album, and first for American Recordings/Republic Records, "The Carpenter." In 2001, banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett formed The Avett Brothers with standup bass player Bob Crawford. Growing up in Concord, NC, the boys immersed themselves in their musician dad’s record collection, falling in love with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Since then, they’ve become genre stalwarts over the course of six albums, including 2007′s acclaimed Emotionalism. Old Crow Medicine Show will be the opening act.

You have to pay for parking at Braves games, Hawks games, and even many local high school football games. And the parking cost is built into ticket prices for concerts inside the amphitheater. So how is this different?

Well, it would have been nice to know at the time I purchased tickets last month that I'd need to bring $10 cash with me, which I rarely have on me. There was nothing that originally mentioned it.

I understand what you mean, and what happened is understandably upsetting. I had looked at the amphitheater's website several times before I saw the parking charge, which is listed on the concert details page – http://www.vzwamp.com/event/big-apple-circus/. But from what you are saying, it was never mentioned in the ticket purchase process.

Sorry, I am with @Travis...Can't imagine paying $10 to park for a dog and pony show. Big time sports don't compare well to the circus. Hope they treat the animals well.

I'm asking both the circus and the amphitheater operators about this parking fee – why it is being charged, who is taking the cash and why wasn't it mentioned at least during the ticket purchase process. Anyone who's been to the amphitheater knows the only way to get there is by car. And I doubt they've even considered provisions for taxis – not that a family of four or five wants to hop in a taxi and spend even more than $10.

I guess I'm just tired of the whole process of purchasing tickets for just about anything, and all the additional fees involved for just about anything, I'm surprised you're even allowed to peruse the websites for free at this point...
I bought tickets for Ringling Brothers earlier today and Ticketmaster's website just plain sucks...when using a discount offer code, its supposed to hide tickets that are not included in the offer, and once the offer was entered, it sure enough hid well over 40% of the seats...however, most of the seats it still showed as available were NOT part of the offer, this I found out only after calling and waiting 20 minutes...ARGHHH!
Eventually I found tickets that I did indeed purchase using my offer code and I'm greeted with several different options for ticket delivery...$2.50 and I can print them at home, using my printer, my ink, and my paper...gee thanks
