Is the economy on the rebound? It appears the local economy may be, as Value Place Alpharetta is holding its grand opening Thursday, Feb. 7 at its McFarland Parkway location.
The extended stay hotel opened its doors recently, and will have the grand opening from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., with a ribbon cutting, food, tours and prizes. The public is open, but you must RSVP. The hotel will give away a 26-inch TV, an iPad and gift cards. But you have to be there to win.

The hotel's opening was delayed considerably when the original bank was taken over by the FDIC. But Value Place arranged new financing to complete the hotel. The site was chosen because it was close to GA 400, and company officials said it was important to be on that corridor.
Each Value Place property offers three room plans: a studio, studio sleeper and studio double. Services included in the weekly rate include a full kitchen with towels and linens, expanded cable network including a premium movie channel and bi-weekly studio cleaning. Additional cleaning and linen service, Internet access, dishes and other kitchen supplies are available for a nominal fee. There is onsite laundry and vending.
