Families from across Alpharetta and Milton already have been dropping off their Christmas trees for the 23rd annual Bring One for the Chipper event on Saturday, Jan. 7, when the trees will be turned into mulch.
All of the locations are in Milton, but one is designated as the Alpharetta location:
- Home Depot, Windward Parkway
- Milton High School
- Scottsdale Farms (drop-off site only through Jan. 7)
Make sure you remove all decorations from your tree before dropping it off.
In Alpharetta, it's the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission, Keep Georgia Beautiful and other partners – the Windward Parkway Home Depot, the Alpharetta-Johns Creek Kiwanis Club, Windward Parkway Chick-Fil-A Store, and the Alpharetta Young Men’s Service League – who invite you to bring trees to Home Depot on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Trees will be chipped into mulch by the Davey Tree Expert Company. Mulch is then used for public beautification projects and is available free to Alpharetta citizens. To request mulch, please fill out the request form on the City website. Download Mulch Request Form Here.
In Milton, residents can drop off Christmas trees through Saturday at Scottsdale Farms, or at Milton High on Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Free mulch is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also in Milton, tree pick up is available by emailing Boy Scout Troop 841 at email@example.com.
Milton sponsors include the Milton Grows Green committee, Alpharetta Rotary Club and Casey Tree Experts.
While supplies last on Saturday, dogwood or redbud seedlings will be handed out, courtesy of the Alpharetta Rotary Club.
