Support A Cause And Save Money
Breast Cancer Awareness month is here and there are a lot of great promotions going on that donate money to find a cure and save shoppers on items they may already buy anyway.
October is breast cancer awareness month and many stores and brands are participating in the cause. This is not only great for the search for a cure, but it is also for those of us who love a great deal. By joining in on supporting breast cancer awareness, shoppers can save money on a wide variety of items, many that they would buy anyway.
Ulta has a great promotion going on right now. They have many products that are specially packaged with a percentage of the proceeds going to the cause. The best is on haircare. If you already use high end products like TIGI, this is a great time to stock up. I bought the same exact hairspray that I buy normally for half of the price. The only difference was that it has a pink can.
Stocking up on hairspray, dry shampoo and manipulator for $7.99 each is a huge bargain, especially for products that are rarely on sale. Combine that with one of their coupons that come in the newspaper or mail for an extra 20 percent off or $5 off of a $10 purchase, and this is an amazing price on hair care products. The store also has a drawing that you can enter and for donations to the Susan B. Komen fund, you can also choose a free umbrella, coffee mug or bag. If you shop here anyway or use name brand haircare or makeup, this is the place to go during the month of October.
Payless Shoes store has a big sign in their window that says shoppers who buy pink ribbon items in the store will get a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $25 or more.
Michaels has a large display of pink items and many of them are already clearance priced. Sign up for the Michael's application on your smart phone and you will always have a coupon to show them for your purchase. They also have coupons in the newspaper many weeks.
Bed, Bath and Beyond has pink ribbon items and their special for the week is a white and pink travel mug for $4.99 instead of $7.99. These are insulated and great for coffee on the go. Getting it before you head out the door may curb your desire to stop in the Starbucks drive-thru as well. One reusable mug that donates to charity is about the same price of a grande specialty drink at Starbucks. (Note from the Editor, who sits in a Starbucks while editing this: Using that mug you just bought at Starbucks saves a tiny bit, too.)
Dicks Sporting Goods is even participating by offering a wide variety of items from many different companies. Whether you want pink golf clubs or just a pink ribbon chair to watch sports in, they have it here. Use this coupon through January 12 and save $10 off on your purchase of $25 or more.
It is always great to support a cause, especially one that could help save lifes. It is even better to support the cause and save money at the same time.
