UPDATE: Alpharetta Shooting Victim Dies

Alpharetta investigators are conducing a manhunt to find a suspect in the Whitestone Ridge shooting.

UPDATE: The shooting victim died after being taken to North Fulton Hospital Monday night.

The man was shot in Stoneridge subdivision early Monday evening, and Alpharetta investigators were searching for a suspect.

The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where investigators had gone to question him about the shooting, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesman George Gordon.

The Alpharetta Dispatch Center received a call at 6:24 p.m. from a man who said he saw a man shot. Alpharetta police and fire units responded to the call at a townhome on Whitestone Ridge, a street within Stoneridge. They found the victim, who had been shot one time in the lower abdominal area, Gordon said.

Police are conducting a manhunt for a suspect in the shooting. As the manhunt was in progress, Gordon said he could not release any information about the suspect.

"The detectives that are working this scene are working hard to find that shooter and bring him into custody," he said.

Slowly but surely the city life is coming up 400. I am saddened by this revelation. I would hate to have to move 60 miles North of my home.

This young man was my sons best friend. He was an awesome young man, hard working and into building his cars. Please keep him in your prayers. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him.

Unfortunately, crime happens everywhere...even in Pine Valley.

used to live there, many nights we had a stranger ringing our doorbell middle of the night, called the cops but nothing happened. Other nights a drunk ex-boyfriend/husband showed up in the cul-de-sac yelling, threating to fight, etc. Not an ideal place to live. VERY glad we left.
