Regal Cinemas to Build 'Luxury' Theater at Avalon

The new theater is scheduled to open in 2014.

Regal Cinemas soon-to-be built Avalon Stadium 12 & RPX, along Ga 400, will be unlike any other theater in the area, executives tell Patch.

Outfitted with luxury amenities, every seat at Regal Avalon Stadium 12 & RPX will be a recliner with a footrest "for added comfort." And, according to information provided by Regal Entertainment Group, theaters will also include a convenient table area for dining on a menu which is to feature "restaurant-quality food and drink selections, as well as traditional cinema snacks." Even the lobby won't be overlooked - with a lounge space "where guests can relax before or after the movie in the warmth of intimate soft-seating areas or choose table seating for more room to hold appetizers, entrΓ©es, desserts and drinks."

"Regal Avalon Stadium 12 & RPX creates a new definition of luxury entertainment for Atlanta moviegoers," said Robert Crane, senior vice President of Real Estate for Regal Entertainment Group, in a statement. "Regal is building a grand new entertainment complex in the North Fulton community to match the impeccable style of the overall Avalon development."

The entertainment group hopes to "combine the ambiance of a favorite restaurant with the latest advances in digital cinema technology for a picture-perfect trip to the movies," according to the company.

The theater's largest auditorium will be equipped for the Regal Premium Experience (RPX), which will deliver the best in both sight and sound technology to enhance the blockbuster viewing experience.

"Avalon will be like no other mixed-use property in the Southeast, and the luxury moviegoing experience Regal will offer is a big part of the guest experience," Managing Partner North American Properties Mark Toro said.

The new theater, which is scheduled to open in 2014, will join other luxury Regal theatres in Newport Beach, CA and SouthGlenn, CO. The company will also add a "posh addition to Regal Atlantic Station in midtown."
