Driver, 29, Dies in Canton Wreck

One person died Tuesday night and four others were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for various injuries after a head-on collision on Bells Ferry and Butterworth roads. 

When crews from Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Canton Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, the 29-year-old driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix involved in the accident was trapped, two other male occupants had neck, hip and back pains, and one had a knot on his head, Cherokee Fire spokesman Tim Cavender said.

Map Indicates 15 Child Sex Offenders in Sandy Springs - Sandy Springs Patch

Last week, Sandy Springs Police arrested Fernando Arriola-Lobo of Cedar Run, a maintenance worker at Azalea Park Apartments, for exposing himself to children from a vacant unit as they walked by, on their way to school. If convicted, Arriola-Lobo would be one of at least 16 sex offenders in Sandy Springs, according to the Georgia Sex Offenders Map.

The map lists convicted offenders, their crimes, conviction dates, and dates of the last residential check. Several offenders show addresses in the proximity of Roswell Road. See Sandy Springs Patch for more on this story.

Acworth Inmate Died of Natural Causes - Acworth Patch

An inmate at the Acworth Detention Center was found dead Saturday morning and the case is being investigated, according to the Acworth Police Department.

An officer noticed an unresponsive white male lying on his bed inside his cell at about 7:30 a.m., and discovered that the man had died. Go to Acworth Patch for more on this story.

Man Arrested for Public Urination Again - Johns Creek Patch

On Aug. 11 a Johns Creek Police Officer responded to the GNC store on Haynes Bridge Road following a report of a person urinating in public.

A store employee stated that while walking from her car to the store, she saw a man in the patio area of El Azteca restaurant look around, put some papers on the ground, unbutton his pants and urinate.
