Milton Firefighters Train Residents in CPR

Fire station hosts Saturday classes for family and friends

Milton residents can make life for family and friends a bit safer by signing up for CPR Saturdays.

The Milton Fire Department hosts the series of free lifesaving classes the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. Milton Fire Station No. 43 hosts the classes. The next class is Feb. 5.

CPR Saturdays is part of the American Heart Association’s Family and Friends curriculum. Local residents will learn about CPR, rescue breathing how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and how to aid a choking victim. Firefighters will cover how to assist children and infants in choking emergencies or when CPR is needed.

Participants won’t receive certification in CPR, though they will receive training. For information on accredited American Heart Association Training programs, contact Lt. Russ Scanlan at 404-376-0924 or click here for a training class.
