Carl Lawson, a member of the Milton High Eagles varsity football team, was one of three Georgians named to the first team defense on the MaxPreps 2012 All-American Football Team.
"The Class Region 5-AAAAAA Defensive Player of the Year, the Auburn commit amassed a whopping 26 sacks as a senior," according to a story by MaxPreps' Stephen Spiewak.
The 6-feet, 3 inch, 245-pound Lawson played his senior season on the defensive line.
Other George first team defensive players were:
- Montravius Adams, a defensive tackle for Dooly County
- Nathaniel Norwood, a hybrid linebacker/nose tackle for Lovejoy.
A few Georgians also were named to the second team by MaxPreps.
- Alvin Kamara, a running back for Norcross
- Robert Nkemdiche, a defensive lineman for Grayson.
