Johns Creek Teacher Served With Warrants, Arrested
Michael Minton of Milton was served with warrants for aggravated battery and assault and false imprisonment.
Update, Thursday, Sept. 20, 5 p.m.:
According to a police report from the Atlanta Police Department, the warrants served to Michael Minton on Sept. 13 stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred on Feb. 12 and was reported to police on July 30.
A woman told police that Minton, her boyfriend, allegedly punched and slammed her head into the wall at an Atlanta address. She went to an Athens hospital the next day. The woman provided police with photos of her injuries and hospital information.

A Johns Creek High School teacher has been arrested and placed in the Fulton County Jail in Alpharetta after being served with arrest warrants for aggravated battery and assault and false imprisonment.
Michael T. Minton, 27, of Milton was arrested at the school on Sept. 13.
According to a report supplied by the Johns Creek Police Department, a school resource office at Johns Creek High contacted a Johns Creek Police officer, informing him there were active warrants for a member of the school's faculty.
The school officer said an Atlanta Police Officer was on the way to the school. The school officer requested that JCPD respond, as well.
When the JCPD officer arrived at the school, he met with the school officer and Principal Buck Greene, and the Atlanta Police officer arrived a short time later.
The Atlanta Police officer presented warrants for aggravated battery, aggravated assaults, battery and false imprisonment. The warrants were dated Aug. 6, 2012.
The principal summoned Minton to the front officer, where he was handcuffed, detained and served with the warrants, and then transported to the Fulton Jail annex in Alpharetta.
According to the Johns Creek Police Department, the investigation will be handled by Atlanta Police, as the alleged incidents leading to the warrants took place in the Atlanta Police Department's jurisdiction.
Minton remains employed with the school while the incident is under investigation, according to Fulton Schools spokesperson Susan Hale.
